Job Description

The American Association for Cancer Research invites medical candidates to apply for the AACR Research Fellowships in the USA in order to get professional experience. The following headings are used to offer this fellowship program: The AACR-Johnson & Johnson Clinical Oncology Research Training Fellowship and the AACR-AstraZeneca Clinical Hematology or Oncology Research Training Fellowship are intended to promote diversity, equity, and inclusion. The fellowship is offered to support clinical scientists who are in their early careers and hold an MD, DO, or MD/PhD degree. We encourage applications from medical students who are interested in expanding their knowledge and abilities related to pharmaceutical industry medication development.

The fellows will obtain practical work experience in medication development, data analysis, clinical research, and clinical trial design through this research fellowship. During your one-year stay in America, you will be expected to carry out and finish clinical activities and clinical research-based projects. The benefit of having your completed work published and presented will also be included. The USA industry partners for this worldwide fellowship program are AstraZeneca and Johnson & Johnson. The AstraZeneca fellowship will be located in Gaithersburg, Maryland, and they are looking for candidates in oncology or hematology who are in late stages of clinical development.

Johnson & Johnson is sponsoring another amazing opportunity under the fully supported fellowship, which will be located in either Great Boston or Philadelphia. Applicants with early-stage clinical development for non-small cell lung cancer are encouraged to apply for this fellowship. Getting your hands dirty in early-stage clinical development to prevent lung cancer in a high-risk population is the goal of the Johnson & Johnson fellowship. Additionally, you will have freedom with your work schedule. It is vital to know that your applications will be reviewed by an AACR Scientific Review Committee every quarter so that assessments can be made on time.

You will be matched with one industry scientist or clinical team member to serve as your mentor for the duration of the fully-funded international fellowship in the United States. You will get the chance to observe your mentor in action while you go about your daily business at work, including meetings with project teams, academic institutions, and other stakeholders. The following topics will be discussed by the fellows: marketing, statistics, clinical operations, drug development strategy and its implementation, and regulatory strategy. Moreover, based on the applicants’ backgrounds, priority areas for preclinical research and biomarker development are offered in certain instances. The foundations of clinical research as well as the design of clinical studies will be covered.
