International students should submit applications. Students from within the country are not qualified.

Applicants must be pursuing an undergraduate degree at Level 6.
Students have to pay for themselves.

Candidates must be admitted and enrolled full-time in a degree program.

Benefits of Matsumae International Foundation Fellowship in Japan 2025

Students will receive JPY 220,000.
This amount is paid for living costs.
A stipend of JPY 120,000 is paid for arrival.

The Matsumae International Foundation Fellowship requirements for Japan in 2025

International students who are not Japanese should apply.
Applications for this fellowship are not accepted from domestic students.
Applicants must be younger than 49.
A Japanese host institution’s offer is a requirement for students.
Candidates must speak English and Japanese fluently.
Candidates cannot have studied or worked in Japan.
